Wade Phillips lead our Cowboys last
season to a 13-3 Record with a record 13 Pro Bowlers on the
roster. Well, guess what? All 13 Pro Bowlers return this
season along with some key off season aquisitions to make the Cowboys
the favorite to win the Superbowl this year. All Pro QB Tony Romo
and cast start the quest for our 6th Vince Lombardy throphy and close
out the Texas Stadium era as we begin to move into our new home in
Arlington, Texas. Up and coming coaching sensation Jason Garrett
returns also to guide the powerful Cowboys offense in 2008.
Whether it was QB Roger Staubach leading our team or
QB Danny White or the greatest Cowboy QB of all time Troy Aikman, this
team has had great quarterbacks, and
this season is no different. This year, Pro Bowl QB Tony Romo
leads our new offense, patented by former Cowboys QB and current
Offensive Coordinator, Jason Garrett. Romo had 36 TDs in
2007. Former Pro Bowl QB Brad Johnson gives us depth as our #2
QB.
A good passing attack also needs the receiving end
as well. The Cowboys have the best duo of receivers in the
league. The league's top WR, Terrell Owens returns this season to
pick up where he left off last season when he scored the most TDs among
any WR. WR Patrick Crayton
offers Romo another option for the deep threat or that slant
pass. Many argue that Crayton might have the best hands on
this team.
All Pro RB Marion Barber returns to the team after
signing a huge off season contract. His punishing attack on
opposing defenses are further strengthened by quite possible the
greatest offensive line in the league today. Flozell "Hotel"
Adams, Kyle Koshier, and Andre Gurode return to anchor the line.
We also have a good rookie RB in Felix Jones.
This should be another great year for TE Jason
Witten. Last season, Jason Witten made the Pro Bowl, and this
season he should emerge
again this season as the league's top TE and make another Pro
Bowl.
The new 3-4 base defense is now fully in
place. OLB Demarcus Ware has shown last season that he is the
next Charles Haley. Moreover, CB
Terrance Newman looks more confident as he has veteren CB Anthony Henry
on the other side to shut down the passing attack. SS Roy
Williams should have another Pro Bowl season as he
shuts down the run and helps in pass defense. Pro Bowl FS Ken
Hamlin is back also. I can't wait to see
those hard hits he will be providing on Eagle and Giants players!
CB Adam "Pac Man" Jones joins us along with rookie CB Mike
Jenkins. LB Zack Crockett joins us too this season to bolster our
strong group of line backers.
Since 1960,
the
Dallas Cowboys have been committed to winning in the National
Football
League. Having appeared in the most playoff games and Superbowls
of
any NFL team, the Cowboys have proven themselves by winning five NFL
championships
including being the only team to win three Superbowls in 4 years.
Cowboy
greats such as QB Roger Stauback, RB Tony Dorsett, WR Michael Irvin,
and RB Herschel Walker still
instill
fear into NFL defensive players. Furthermore, who could forgot
the
presence that Head Coach Tom Landry had on this team.
However,
our defense
should
not be ignored either. The Cowboys have also boasted good
defenses
with greats like DE Charles Haley, DT Leon Lett, DE Tony Tolbert, DT
Russell Maryland,
CB Larry Brown, and
CB Deion Sanders among others.
In 1989, the
Cowboys embarked on a new path to excellence as Jerry Jones bought the
team and stadium for around $170 million dollars. Today, the
Cowboys
are the most valuable sports franchise in the world! Jones
brought
in coaches like Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer, who all left Dallas
with a Superbowl Ring. They drafted a dominant team comprised of
players like QB Troy Aikman,
RB Emmitt Smith, DT Leon Lett, and All Pro OG Larry Allen. Jimmy
Johnson put together one of
the best offensive lines in the history of football, which was one of
the keys of our success in the 90s. All of our linemen were Pro
Bowlers including OG Larry Allen, OT Erik Williams, OT Mark Tuinei, OG
Nate Newton, and C Mark Stepnowski. The
Cowboys also
signed key free agents such as Pro Bowl TE Jay Novacek,
CB
Deion Sanders, and All Pro DE Charles Haley. Wade Phillips and
Offensive Coordinator Jason Garrett are brought together this season to
bring the Boys back to the Superbowl!
Since 1996, www.anirbanroy.org
(official web site of Anirban Roy) has
provided Cowboy fans with a home on the Internet
for the latest scores, stats, and news about our historic
franchise. Living in "Whiner Country," I was sick of the all of
the 49er and Raiders crap on our local media. The Bay Area (CA)
has the most pathetic sports franchises in the country. I had to
do something to show my Texas Pride so I created this web site.
We are also famous for our "My Beloved Superbowl Dallas Cowboys
Cheerleaders" site, which features the most beautiful women in the
world! Two years ago, one of the rookie cheerleaders found our
site
and emailed us about how our web site rocks!
Welcome back to another year at My Beloved Superbowl Dallas
Cowboys! The whole staff here at
www.anirbanroy.org is excited to update this site on a regular basis
and give you the latest Cowboys news this year. May God Bless our
Cowboys, The Great State of Texas, and our country.
Also, this is my 2nd season of having Directv's NFL Sunday Ticket at
home. For those of you Cowboy fans who live outside the
Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, this is the best option for us to watch
our team at home. Sure, it is expensive, but when you look at it,
life is short - so watch Cowboys football as much as you can!
