Martha's
Vineyard is a decent sized island off the coast of Cape Cod in
Massachusetts. The only way to get onto the island is via
ferry. The ferry takes both cars and passengers, and it takes
about 45 minutes to cross to the island. We took the ferry from
Wood's Hole on Cape Cod, which docks at Vineyard Haven on the
island. Martha's Vineyard has lots of nice little towns such as
West Tisbury, Tisbury, and Edgartown. You can find nice
little pubs on the island to grab a drink, some wicked good clam
chowder, and catch the Patriots game. We were in New England for
the night that the Patriots beat the Giants to achieve a 16-0 season in
2007. Note: There are no establishments in Vineyard Haven
that serve alcohol so you need to take the bus from there to the next
town for a good brew.
