Madrid has beautiful historic buildings throughout the city.
This one is near the Prado Museum.

Not too far from that building is the Spanish Congress. It
was near our hotel, Doubletree Madrid El Prado.

This classic style building houses many embassies in Madrid including
Qatar.

The narrow alleyways of Madrid are very picturesque.

At night, many of the public squares in Madrid are full of life with
people out and about as well as enjoying dinner in the various cafes.

The Palacio Real is the largest royal palace in Europe.

This is the main entrance to the Royal Palace which is the official
residence of the Spanish King and Queen.

The current King of Spain got married in this cathedral next to the
Palacio Real.

The Museo del Prado houses many amazing art work including paintings
from famous Spanish painters like Velasquez.

The Alcala Gate is a famous landmark in Madrid. We drove by
it when we departed the city for the area by the airport.
