The house with the strange balconies is one of Gaudi's works called Casa Batillo.  Gaudi was a famous architect from this area in the 1800s and was known for neo Gothic buildings.

La Sagadra Familia is a famous cathedral that has been in construction since the late 1800s.  Gaudi was the original architect.  It was still under construction when we went in 2024.

The lighting inside the La Sagarda Familia is so beautiful with all the stainglass windows!

Park Guell was a colloboration by Gaudi and another person called Guell who wanted to build a luxury neighborhood here.  The project failed, and the city made it into a nice park.

This is a famous lizard sculpture made of mosaic tile inside Park Guell.

This famous skyscraper in Barcelona is the water services building.  It reminds me of a similiar looking building in London.

My wife and I are entering the Gothic area of Barcelona which has narrow alleys like this.

The Museo Picasso or Picasso Museum is located in the Gothic area of Barcelona.  Here is one of his famous paintings at the museum.

I recommend dining at one of the many Michelin star establishments in Barcelona like Xerta.  The food and service was amazing!

Monserrat Monastery is a short one hour away from Barcelona, and this beautiful ancient monastery is built onto the mountain.  A famous statue called the "Black Madonna" is inside the cathedral.

   Barcelona is a major tourist hot spot in Spain and known for hosting the 1992 Summer Olympic Games as well.  The capital city of the Catalonia region of Spain, this vibrant city has beautiful architecture, a historic Gothic district, and even city walls going back to the Roman era.  Also, it is on the Mediterrean Sea.  The most famous building in the city is the cathedral called La Sagrada Familia, which has been under construction since the late 1800s, and it was still being worked on when we went in May of 2024.  Also, the city is known for some great Michelin star restaurants like Xerta, where we dined.  One can find a list of current Michelin star restaurants at MICHELIN Restaurants – The MICHELIN Guide.
