Barcelona is a major
tourist hot spot in Spain and known for hosting the 1992 Summer Olympic
Games as well. The capital city of the Catalonia region of Spain,
this vibrant city has beautiful architecture, a historic Gothic
district, and even city walls going back to the Roman era. Also,
it is on the Mediterrean Sea. The most famous building in the
city is the cathedral called La Sagrada Familia, which has been under
construction since the late 1800s, and it was still being worked on
when we went in May of 2024. Also, the city is known for some
great Michelin star restaurants like Xerta, where we dined. One
can find a list of current Michelin star restaurants at
MICHELIN Restaurants – The MICHELIN Guide.
