My mother, brother, and I are enjoying a beach on the Big Island in 1997.
I attended an awesome luau on the beach too at the Royal Kona Resort on the Big Island of Hawaii back in 1997.
In 2022, I returned to the Big Island and stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village Resort near Kona. We had to take a tram or boat to get around the large resort!
The views of the sunset from our balcony at the Hilton Waikoloa Village were amazing!
The Hilton Waikoloa Village has dolphins on site also!

We had dinner at Ulu at the Four Seasons Resort one night on the trip in 2022. The guy is blowing a sea shell horn in the background after lighting the tiki torches!
The best shaved ice on the Big Island is at OBISIC in the King's Shops at the Waikoloa Village.
This is a picture of rural Hawaii near Waimea on the northern highlands of the Big Island.
We tried the famous malasadas which are filled donuts with powdered sugar on top! Yum!
This is the Akaka Falls on the Hilo side of the island.
We also went to the Rainbow Falls in the City of Hilo.
In the distance, one can see Coconut Island in Hilo Bay. The shoreline of Hilo Bay is very rocky.
At the Hawaii Volcanos National Park, we saw the eruption zone for the Kilauea Volcano.
The black spots in the picture are lava flows from the volcano to the ocean.
This is the Queen Liliuokalani park in Hilo which is a Japanese Garden.
