Breckenridge & Vail, Colorado

 BR1
A cool, crisp Rocky Mountain stream like one sees in the Coors commercials with the Rockies in the background.  I had to just do my best Captain Morgan's pose!

I didn't get to ski in Breckenridge since we went in August, but it was pretty cold compared to Denver both times I went there in the summer.

Rockies
Here is a picture of me with the Rocky Mountains in the back ground off the main freeway connecting Denver and the mountain towns.

Vail
Vail Village is really neat with a nice blend of modern and old world style architecture.

Vail2
The Alpenrose is characteristic of the old world buildings in the Vail Village.

Vail03
I stayed at a loft suite at the Highline in Vail.  The random thunderstorms in the summer month made a nice background for the mountainous views.

One never knows what high end event is going on at the Four Seasons in Vail!  When we went there to have dinner, there was a super car rally going on!

After my whirlwind road trip of the Mid West ended in 2009, we ended up going to Breckenridge to unwind and relax before flying back home.  I found a nice massage studio in town and got a one hour Swedish massage before walking around beautiful Breckenridge, CO.  Breckenridge is a ski town mainly, but there are things to do year round including nice hikes along the small mountain river that makes its way down the downtown area.

In 2021, I went to Vail when I went to Glenwood Springs.  Vail is another famous ski town, but it was cool to visit during the summer.  Vail is more high end than Breckenridge, and I loved having dinner at Flame, the signature restaurant at the Four Seasons.  The Vail Village has lots of nice restaurants, coffee shops, and a cool brewery called 7 Hermits.  We stayed at the Highline, a Doubletree by Hilton resort, and we were upgraded to a two story loft suite since I am a Diamond member for HHonors.
