Northern California Wine Country In Napa and Surrounding Areas

H6
When entering the Napa area, there is this cool sculpture off the highway.

N10
These are some vineyards in summer along Highway 29 on the way to St. Helena from Napa.

N13
Here are some grapes on the vine at a winery off the Silverado Trail.

N11
This is the Napa River Inn which has a cool "General Store" that also does wine tasting.  There is a great restaurant called Angele over here too.

N1
These vines were photographed in winter, but the area still looks really cool.

N3
Wine tasting opportunities are all over the wine country from Napa to Healdsburg.  This one is at the Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort.

N2
I highly recommend the Lodge at Sonoma Renaissance Resort.  They have these really nice "cottages" with fireplaces.  It is the only Four Diamond resort in Sonoma.

N4
The Napa and surrounding areas are known for their delicious restaurants.  I have eaten at most of the top restaurants in the Napa area.  This one is called Galpao Gaucho, which is a Brazilian Steakhouse.

N14
This is a famous stretch of the main road in Yountville which features some of the top restaurants in the world.  The red building is Bouchon, a restaurant by Chef Thomas Keller.  They have a bakery next door also.

N12
The CIA at Copia features a great restaurant also.  The culinary institute branch here prepares delicious dishes using a lot of fruits, vegetables, and herbs grown on site.

15
I recommend hiring a Rolls Royce Ghost for a wine tasting tour in the Napa Valley.

16
I love the views of the vineyards and surrounding area from Artesa Winery.

Domaine Carneros has a nice chateaux at their vineyard in between Napa and Sonoma.

I have been to the Napa Wine Country many times.  From 2005 to around 2010, I covered that area as part of my sales territory for Schering-Plough Pharmaceuticals.  As a result, I met with health care providers in that area every three weeks usually.  I also have many dinner meetings at the top restaurants in that area during that time.  Napa is not only known for wine, but they are known for having some of the top restaurants in the world.  Some of the fine culinary establishments that I have ate at include Redd, Press, The Farm at Carnero's Inn, Bouchon, Hurley's, Cole's Chop House, Celadon, Mustards, Brix, and Bistro Don Giovanni.  Don't get me wrong.  I have done numerous wine tasting trips to Napa on my personal time however with friends.  Some of my favorite wineries include Stag's Leap and Silverado.  The two luxury resorts I recommend in the area is The Villagio Spa and Resort in Yountville and The Lodge at Sonoma Resort in Sonoma.
