Seoul, South Korea

This is the entrance to Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul.

Gyeongbokgung Palace was the home of the Korean King until 1910 when Japan annexed Korea.

The throne room had an awesome dragon emblem at the top of the ceiling at the palace.

Here is a pagoda near the palace in Seoul.

This is the entrance to Jogyesa Temple in Seoul.  It is the major Buddhist temple in the area.

They had a special ceremony going on the day we visited the temple.

Here is a very modern building in Seoul.

Insa-dong Street is a famous area of restaurants and souvenir shops.  There is lots of local art work too.

This is the night scene near Incheon, which is about an hour from Seoul.

Seoul is the capital of the Republic of Korea (otherwise known as South Korea).  Seoul is a nice mix of old and new with palaces and temples from the ancient times as well as very modern buildings from today.  I went there in November so it was pretty COLD!
