Although I was in First Class, I was not too thrilled with US Air's
service on the flight to Puerto Vallarta. First, we were almost 2
hours late due to mechanical problems in Sacramento which made me miss
my connection in Phoenix. The customer service counter was
terrible in Phoenix. As a First Class passenger, I expect to be
treated like a celebrity, and the lady at the counter did not seem to
care that I needed to get to PV for a wedding. Then, the flight I
was diverted to Guadalajara due to the airport in PV being closed
because of the runway being closed. I had to then take a van to
Puerto Vallarta from Guadalajara. I was traveling with two
celebrities however (Lance Bass from N'Sync and Cheryl Tiegs) who were
attending a celebrity wedding that weekend in PV.
Here is the infinity pool at my hotel, Playa Del Sol Grande in Nuevo
Vallarta, Mexico.
The hotel had a great swim up bar, and I had the all inclusive package
so I could order as much food and drinks as I could consume.
I am chilling at the pool with my pina colada as I gaze over the
Pacific Ocean.
Here's the beach in Nuevo Vallarta. The water was not as nice as
the Caribbean!
I am enjoying my afternoon on the beach with a daiquri.
I am having breakfast with my friends at the hotel.
Puerto Vallarta is "Old Mexico" with the cobblestone roads and Spanish
colonial architecture.
I did ziplining for the first time when I was in Mexico on this trip.
Here's the wedding party posing for pictures on the beach. We had
to wear linen pants with a salmon colored shirt.
I caught the garter. You know what that means :)
My good friends, Jason
& Ginny, decided to tie the knot in Nuevo Vallarta, Mexico (near
Puerto Vallarta) in 2010, and I was asked to be a groomsman in the
wedding. In November, I headed out for Mexico in First Class to
check out Puerto Vallarta. I had a terrible journey getting
there. I missed my connection in Phoenix due to mechanical issues
in Sacramento. Then, the flight I was on got diverted to
Guadalajara since a plane made a crash landing in Puerto Vallarta with
no landing gear closing the airport for hours. The airline took
us via van to Puerto Vallarta on one of the most dangerous roads in the
world. However, after arriving, it was a fun trip. The
hotel was right on the beach, and I had a king room with a
jacuzzi. I also had the all inclusive meal plan so I could eat
and drink as much as I wanted. During this trip, I tried
ziplining for the first time. The wedding was really nice.
It was held on the beach in Bucerias.
