Here is a picture of the Statue of Liberty from back in the 1980s when
I visited New York as a youngster.
I am back in New York in 2005 and touring the Empire State Building
here.
This is a good view from the top of the Empire State Building. At
one point, this was the tallest building in the world at 102 floors.
I
have been to New York several times. When we lived on the East
Coast, we were able to tour the major sites including the Empire State
Building, Statue of Liberty, World Trade Center, Wall Street, &
China Town. I went back to New York twice since graduating from
college. I had to go to New Jersey in 2005 to my company's
corporate headquarters for a three week training course. We went
to New York for one day during that trip, and I saw Ground Zero,
Madison Square Garden, Times Square, and the Empire State Building
again. In 2007, I went to New York for New Year's Eve. We
partied at Tonic (a club in Times Square). I got to see the ball
and everything. The next day, we went to Central Park, the UN
Building, and Lombardi's Pizza (the first pizzeria in the
country). New York is a fun city. I recommend taking public
transportation including the Long Island Railway and the subway.
It was relatively safe when I was there. Penn Station is pretty
overwhelming. I flew into Long Island/Islip Airport when I went
to New York in 2007 so I got to see Eastern Long Island also.
