The concert was held at Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, which is very
close to my house.
Martina McBride opened for George Strait. Her performance of
"Indepedence Day" was amazing!
Here is King George performing. My favorite performance of the evening was when he sang, "Check Yes Or No."
The Cowboy is Riding Away at the end of the concert.
I was thrilled when
George Strait announced that Sacramento would be on his final concert
tour, the Cowboy Rides Away tour, in 2013. I waited a little too
long to get my tickets so I had to pay a premium through Stub Hub, but
it was well worth it to see one of the Country stars that I grew up
with perform live in concert. My favorite performance of the
night was "Check Yes Or No," but he did a lot of great numbers
including "Where The Sidewalk Ends," "Amarillo By Morning," and also
"Th Chair." I was hoping to hear "Adalida" too, but he did not do
that one. Martina McBride opened up for him, and she was great
also. The PBR was in town that week too so this concert was a
great start to some great down home country style entertainment!
