DEN

Den01

To the right of the entry are the double doors that lead to the den.  The den is my home office and where I spend a great deal of my time.  My fraternity paddle from the college days is on display right next to the entrance to the den.

My den is quite large.  The furniture in the den is Norweign Alder.  I have quite a host of technology in the den since I spend a great deal of time on the computer.  I have an AMD Athalon XP 1700+ computer with 120 mb hard drive, DVD burner, DVD drive, GeForce video card, and a host of other features including a tv tuner card so I can view television on my 19 inch LCD monitor with DVI.  I have three pritners - a HP laser printer for everyday printing, a Canon photo printer for printing pictures from my digital camera, and also a HP color inkjet printer which is for work.  I also have an HP scanner and Altec Lansing 2.1 speakers.  I have a 2nd wireless weather station receiver in the den so I can tell what the temperature is like outside.  I also have my ipod Video and my ipod Shuffle too.  On my desk, I have an autographed photo of Vice President Dan Quayle, one of my heroes.  I also have my degree from UC Davis on display.  I also have a lap top that I use for work.

I have 2 bookcases in the den as well.  The larger one displays my awards and throphies as well as my collection of Hard Rock Cafe glasses.  In addition, I have my two gavels on display (one for being President of my fraternity, and one for being Chairman of Davis College Republicans.  I also have souvenirs from my trips all around the world and the U.S. on this book shelf.  You can see the Pepsi bottle from Thailand as well as the Liberty Bell from Philadelphia.  I also have some James Bond VHS tapes on display since I am a big fan of James Bond movies and also I have no use for VHS anymore.  On the wall, you can see various plaques I have including the plaque I got for being State President of my fraternity.  I was the youngest State President in the history of our fraternity in California.  In addition, I have a plaque for being the Founding Chairman of Young Americans For Freedom at UC Davis.  Above that plaque, you can find my Certificate of Election for being elected to the Yolo County Republican Central Committee in 1998.  The book seen in this photo is one I helped write.  I served as a consultant to the publisher.

From my college days, I have this Philips Executive Micro Stereo System.  It has a nice metallic finish with solid cherry speakers.  Also, this book case here holds the Anirban Roy Library.  I have numerous autobiographies on my amazing life.  There are currently 2 editions - Edition 1 is titled "From Birth To Early Teens" and Edition 2 is titled "The College Years."  Edition 3, which will be called "The Real World" is soon to be released.  The first Edition has three volumes, and the second Edition has five volumes.  I also have videos in the library including the Mister Roger's episode where I played my guitar.  There is also a biography that someone back in college wrote about me called Troy Austin: A Biography.  Back in college, I would go by Troy Austin for my chat programs like ICQ since Troy Aikman was my favorite football player and Austin represents the capital of the greatest state in the union.
