The ADT digital keypad on the first floor is connected to my ADT Pulse
System which lets me arm my alarm through my phone app or via
"Alexa." That Lutron smart dimmer switch is also controlled by my
phone app or "Alexa."

This portable ADT key pad not only connects to ADT Pulse, but it gives
me weather and traffic information too. It is a wireless keypad.

The Ring Door Bell lets me have a two way conversation with anyone at
my door whether I am home or not. It connects to the Echo also so
"Alexa" will tell me if someone is ringing my door bell.

This is a good example of my switches in the house since most of the
lights are voice controlled. The lights are labeled so my guests
can tell how to a light on or off with "Alexa." The Lutron pico
is a wireless smart switch also!

What about controlling the garage door remotely? Well, I can open
and
close it from anywhere in the world with my phone app. "Alexa"
can open or close my garage door too when I am at home.

My two thermostats are connected to the WIFI so I can control them via
the phone app or with "Alexa."

These are screen shots of the Honeywell Thermostat App.

What is this? It is my Segway that is connected to a Kasa Smart
WIFI Outlet. These smart outlets throughout my house control
different
electronics like receivers or digital frames. "Alexa" can turn
them on and off.

Since I have so many nice toys in the garage like my Segway, I have a
Nest Cam Outdoor installed in the garage. I can monitor my garage
through this from anywhere in the world. I have an indoor Nestcam
as well.

Everything comes down to the Amazon Echo Devices in my house however to
make it a SMART HOME. This is the 1st generation Echo which has a
powerful speaker to stream music as well.

This is a 1st generation Echo Dot. It is a smaller version of the
Echo, but it lets one bring "Alexa" into multiple rooms with a smaller
interface. I have this one connected to nice hidden speakers for
better sound quality for music.

What is that hiding back there? That is a 2nd generation Echo
Dot. I have a few of those also to give me full "Alexa" coverage
in the house. I guess my housekeeper does not dust back
there? LOL.

This is the 3rd generation Echo Dot. The speaker on this unit is
better than the previous Echo Dots so I can use it as a standalone
speaker too for music streaming.

The Echo Spot has a video screen which lets me view my web cams
throughout the house as well as the Ring door bell camera.
Moreover, this displays pictures too. It also serves as an alarm
clock too in one of the guest rooms.

I have an Amazon Echo Tap in the garage. This is the portable
Echo which I can move to the outdoor patio or take anywhere I go.
In the garage, it is connected to AC power, but it has a battery for
portable use.

I have an Amazon FireTV stick on the TV in my home office also.
This is the only TV in the house which does not connect to my DirecTV
Genie System. I have five TVs in the house! The remote lets
me give "Alexa" orders through the microphone also.

A smart home is now very common in our
country. Since Amazon came out with the Echo system, various tech
companies like TP Link, Philips, GE, Wink, Harmony, & more have
come up with smart devices controlled by either WIFI or Z Wave that
allow people to be lazy and not have to get up to turn lights on, turn
the thermostat up, or even change the channel on the TV. Life is
sweet. LOL. I have a whole home full of smart devices such
as TP Link smart switches, Harmony Hub, Nest Cams, Ring Door Bell, and
more!
