In
Fall of 2000, I was invited by the Young America's Foundation, a
conservative non-partisan organization, to attend their conservative
students conference in Santa Barbara, CA. They sent a team of
staff members up from their Reagan Ranch office to meet with me in
Davis to help promote the conference to conservatives in Northern
California since I was respected as a conservative leader up
here. In fact, they said that everyone at UC Berkeley knew me as
the conservative student leader for Northern California. After
all, I was the Executive Vice Chairman for California College
Republicans, which was the 2nd highest position on the board.
Young America's Foundation paid all off the costs for attending the
conference including registration, hotel, and food. Our hotel was
Fess Parker's Doubletree Resort, which was right across the
beach. Ben Stein was our keynote speaker.
In this picture, my good friend, Allan, and Ivan
(our mascot) are shown with me prior to the Luncheon with Ward
Connerly, which was served in the beautiful outdoor setting at the
hotel.
