1
En route to Truckee for my epic 45th birthday party, we met some of our friends from the Bay Area who were attending for lunch in Roseville at Mikuni!

7
The Springhill Suites in Truckee did a great job setting up and helping us decorate the "speakeasy."  Our caterer is setting up here.

8
Our caterer came up from Sacramento with the delicious food!  The tables all had 1920s themes like Standard Oil, Hoover For President, & Lucky Strike Tobacco Company.

9
Joy is overseeing the final preparation and decorations.

10
Cornerstone Bakery in Truckee delivered the custom barrel cake for us also.

11
The barrel cake said Anirban's Bourbon (Aged 45 Years) Birthday Edition!  I got red velvet and cream cheese!

2
There was a simple sign on the door at the meeting room at the Springhill Suites to let guests know where to enter the "speakeasy."  It is a "secret" after all!  LOL.

 3
The walls had 1920s advertisements too!

4
This sign shows where many of our featured Nevada bourbons came from as well as our famous gangster guests!  LOL.

5
We had Frey Ranch Bourbon and Rye, Smoke Wagon Small Batch Bourbon, and Two Bitch for our Nevada whiskies!

6
Mint Julep anyone?  How about some Texas Ranch Water?  We had recipes for the guests to make their cocktails!

12
I got a selfie as we were about to start the party!

13
A few of the guests are arriving here and ready to make their drinks!

14
My mom is ready to party!

15
The guests are enjoying the party!

16
One of the underground Mob Enforcers, Steve, is here with me.  He will make sure no one causes any trouble!

17
Jeremy, Jade, Daren, and Bruce are all ready to do a shot with me here!

18
Trudy & Eric are not afraid to pose for a picture here.  We will not report anyone to the Alcohol, Tobacco, & Firearms Bureau!

19
Cory just made Alyssa a nice cocktail here.  I think that is a Mint Julep?

20
We had a silent picture show since movies did not have sound back then.  The Great Gatsby was playing on the TV.

21
We wanted to do a shot of Fireball here!

22
Even my mom wanted to try Fireball.  Tina and my mom are doing a shot here.  My mom said it burned.  LOL.

23
The menu was great.  I loved the lamb!

24
Everyone is enjoying the party!

25
That's me!

26
My dad is posing with Daren and Cory here.

27
That cake was too cool to cut, but I had to finally cut into it.

28
The Roy Family is proud of our "Speakeasy."

29
We had a large group of friends at the party, and we thank all of them for making the drive up to Truckee!

30
The Roys stayed at the The Northstar Lodge, which is a Hyatt timeshare property now.  Most of the other guests stayed at the Springhill Suites or Hampton Inn.

31
The two bedroom and two bath unit I booked had three fireplaces.  One of them fireplaces was on the patio!

Joy suggested I throw an epic party to celebrate my milestone birthday of turning 45!  We decided to throw it up in the Lake Tahoe area since I have a lot of friends in Reno, and that area is a nice draw too for a weekend getaway!  I booked the meeting room at the Springhill Suites in Truckee to host my party and turn into my speakeasy.  The hotel staff at the Springhill Suites were AMAZING.  They set up the room and did a lot of the decorations.  On Saturday, the final transformations happened, and "Roy's Nevada Speakeasy" was open for business!  I had my usual caterer come up from Sacramento.  He did a great menu of lamb, chicken, flounder, ravioli, mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet Hawaiian rolls, and even his signature mint sauce for the lamb!  My mom made some fried rice which paired well with the lamb too!  I got a local bakery to do a barrel cake to go with the speakeasy theme.

I suggested everyone wear 1920s or Prohibition Era outfits so everyone did dress up.  We had The Great Gatsby (2013) playing on the TV with no sound since the movies were silent back then.  LOL.  I also found a 40s station on SXM for music.

We got a lot of alcohol for this event!  After all, this was a speakeasy!  Since it was a "Nevada Speakeasy," I got some of Nevada's best whiskies including Frey Ranch Bourbon and Rye, Smoke Wagon Small Batch Bourbon, and Two Bitch Bourbon.  We also had Texas Ranch Water which was tequila mixed with lime juice and a sparkling mineral water we brought back from Mineral Wells, TX.  I also had some rum from all ove the Caribbean too!  Of course, we had to have the Fireball too for shots!

My brother flew in, and he had a Tesla rental which he brought my parents up in.  I booked a very large two bedroom timeshare unit at the Northstar Lodge for us.  We had three fireplaces including an outdoor one.  Most of the other guests stayed at the Springhill Suites.  The hotel even passed out the "pre-party kits" which we had customized for each couple with their favorite type of alcohol.

Overall, we had 26 total people at this epic event.  Everyone enjoyed themselves, and I am so fortunate to have great friends to celebrate my major milestone of turn 45 with.  Cheers!
